Leinfelden-Echterdingen, November 26, 2013 – Creaform, leading provider of portable 3D measurement solutions and 3D metrology services will be present at two German shows in January. Creaform will show the latest developments and trends in optical 3D measurement solutions at Euroguss, held in Nuremberg, and at Nortec, held in Hamburg.

Mobile and accurate measurements for the casting industry
In casting and forging, raw parts are usually machined in some critical areas to get the final part. To make sure that the raw casting holds enough material to be machined, it is possible to carry out dimensional inspections. A 3D scan allows operators to align the raw part on the machine and orient it so as to guarantee enough material for the operation. Such inspection process saves time and money to the company, because it makes it possible to avoid machining of non-compliant castings or forgings. With Creaform’s Handyscan 3D, MetraSCAN 3D and Go!SCAN 3D scanning solutions, not only the size and geometries of the parts to be processed can be inspected, but the complete component can be checked in the installation situation itself.

Production metrology: 3D measurements without measurement arms
If the production area is not well-protected, vibrations affect the measuring system and the measurement results as well. Unstable tripods of measurement arms and laser trackers or moving substructures can also intensify the vibrations. The HandyPROBE arm-free PCMM from Creaform is a great alternative when it comes to take accurate probing measurements in unstable conditions. Thanks to the integrated TRUaccuracy technology and dynamic referencing, the HandyPROBE is completely insensitive to vibrations and environmental changes. This portable CMM is therefore particularly suitable for use on the shop floor and can be completed with the MetraSCAN 3D optical CMM 3D scanner for scanning applications.
