Montreal, December 4, 2006 - Quebec Prime Minister, Mr. Jean Charest, along with the minister of Economic Development, Innovation and Exports, Mr. Raymond Bachand, made public today the new Quebec Research and Innovation strategy. During a press conference held at ExCentris theatre in Montreal, the Prime Minister stated that "the goal is to promote innovation, increase the number of firms that invest in innovation, and improve the efficiency of the mechanism whereby scientific advances are turned into marketable products, jobs and new wealth".
Creaform, which was short listed among 200 other Quebec companies, was invited by the Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Exports as an innovative company in its field.
Two other companies were present at the event, Gala Systems and ITAQ-Zenn.
Mr. Martin Lamontagne, Creaform VP Operations, and Mr. Andre Couture, VP Finances and corporative development, met with the two ministers and had a chance to deliver a live demonstration of the Handyscan 3D, the first self-positioning hand-held 3D laser scanner (digitizer).
