Creaform further enhances its industry-oriented toolbox for additive manufacturing and scan-based reverse engineering.
Creaform, worldwide leader in portable 3D measurement solutions and engineering services, announced the release of VXmodel—the latest version of its scan-to-CAD design software module. These additions were designed to improve user performance and productivity through a more efficient design process.
“Combined with the software’s ease of use, powerful auto-surface feature and its great price-performance ratio, VXmodel addresses the specific needs of industrial designers, mechanical designers and 3D modelling experts in their scan-based reverse engineering or additive manufacturing applications,” said Simon Côté, Product Manager. “These professionals have a lot of choices when it comes to prepping a design. VXmodel’s advanced functionalities, rapid learning curve and intuitive interface allow users to focus on producing accurate designs both effectively and efficiently.”
Customers in the reverse engineering and 3D printing industries can look forward to new features, such as alignment tools, in addition to the following enhancements:
- Multi-element visualization: Streamline your design workflows with this tool that lets users simultaneously handle multiple project elements into the same view—from various intermediate to complex tasks.
- Large data rendering: By improving the rendering capabilities by a factor of 20 in typical cases, VXmodel enables users to view large datasets in an interactive and easy-to-use interface.
- New selection tools: Expand your productivity and efficiency with VXmodel’s tool box. With faster selecting capabilities, you can quickly get started with your design.
VXmodel enables easy integration of 3D scan-based data into any design process. Part of VXelements, Creaform’s 3D software platform and application suite, the versatile module covers the whole workflow. It can help users capture a physical object with Creaform’s 3D scanners, perform several iterations of a concept, and complete the final CAD design.
