LÉVIS, October 15, 2007 – The success of Creaform’s flagship scanner, the REVscan™ (formerly known as the Handyscan 3D), has reached new heights with the sell of the 400th unit to the world-renowned National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
This sell constitutes an important milestone in Creaform’s way to success and is a great step in solidifying the company’s position in the aerospace industry. Since the introduction of the revolutionary REVscan laser scanner in 2005, the company has been building on a very strong momentum. In order to keep pace with its phenomenal growth, the company recently moved from its original location.
Since August 1st, Creaform does business from new and modern premises twice the size of the former ones. The new building perfectly addresses its operating needs and its increased security level meets the requirements of its clientele. Creaform has also increased its production capacity and its number of labs by five, ensuring the company’s capability to meet the growing demand for metrology services and laser scanning devices that it foresees.
Most recently, Creaform has launched the HSM™, a data acquisition software that fully integrates the process of scanning 3D objects with the Handyscan 3D™ laser scanners into CATIA V5, which is a reference CAD platform in the field of aerospace. Creaform has also expanded its Handyscan 3D line of self-positioning handheld laser scanners by introducing the EXAscan™, a scanner offering increased resolution and accuracy as well as a new automatic multi-resolution feature.
