Portable 3D measurement solutions for the manufacturing industry
Hall 1.1, Booth J33
Leinfelden-Echterdingen (D), September 4th, 2014 - This year and for the first time, Creaform, a worldwide leader in portable 3D measurement solutions and 3D engineering services, will participate in the Swiss Prodex trade show. The company will exhibit the HandySCAN 3D and the Go!SCAN 3D, two new portable scanners launched in May, and will also show other measurement systems used in the industry.
The new handheld HandySCAN 3D laser scanner offers an accuracy of up to 0.030 mm, a substantially higher measurement rate than the previous generation, and is setted up and running in less than two minutes. The HandySCAN 3D can be used at all stages of product lifecycle management, including the conception, design and manufacturing as well as for documentation, MRO and replacement tasks. The integrated TRUaccuracy technology guarantees accurate measurements in shop-floor conditions, regardless of the measurement environment or operator skills.
The Go!SCAN 3D scanner features a high scanning speed, an accuracy of up to 0.1 mm and a resolution of up to 0.2 mm. Also, the acquisition of colour 3D models is now possible: users can simultaneously capture high quality geometry and the colour. The white light scanners are particularly suitable for product development, research, CAD design and 3D printing, museology, conservation, digital archiving and multimedia applications.
For tactile measurement tasks, Creaform offers the HandyPROBE coordinate measuring system (CMM) as the alternative to the traditional measuring arm. Compared to the static articulated arms, which have a restricted freedom of movement and need a stable measurement environment and part setup, the HandyPROBE’s measuring volume can be expanded up to 10m and requires no installation on a stable surface. The system is insensitive to changes in the environment such as vibrations, humidity and temperature changes, and shifted objects. It can therefore be used directly in a real production environment. The HandyPROBE is ideal for geometry and surface inspections and can be combined with a scanner for non-contact measurements.
Thomas Minten, Country Manager D-A-CH at Creaform, about being an exhibitor at the Prodex show, says: "We receive more and more requests from Switzerland and have already built up a large customer base there. Swiss companies in the casting industry, energy, aerospace, manufacturing in general, and higher education institutions, use Creaform measurement solutions. Therefore, the Prodex is for us the opportunity to present our measurement solutions and our metrology services division to a broad audience. "
